New Community Shop opens in Bladon

Bladon’s community pop-up shop and café opened for business in April 2015. The villagers had been without a local shop for many years, until a community group was formed which was keen to see a new service introduced. The group held several meetings and brought in ORCC support, which included the carrying out a village survey in 2014. This found that 97% of residents said they would use the facility. The shop is now open for business. It is housed in the Church Rooms every Friday from 10.30—1.00 p.m. and 3.00—6.00 p.m. The shop offers a wide range of local products and essential goods, including fresh bread, together with a café facility for local and visitors to enjoy. The pop-up shop is entirely staffed by volunteers.
